Challenge:
At Royal IHC’s site in Krimpen aan den IJssel, a 60-ton tower crane needed to be overhauled to extend its service life for end customer EMPC Europe B.V. This project was carried out for our client EMPC Europe B.V. in Amsterdam.
Solution:
Novateq Engineering BV developed a comprehensive project plan that began with a thorough analysis of the condition of the crane to be overhauled. Then, using 3D modeling, a plan was made for overhaul and the partial repairs. Based on a risk inventory and evaluation, lifting plans were then realized for disassembly and assembly. In the end, the crane was safely disassembled, successfully overhauled and safely reassembled. This project substantially extended the life of the crane.
